The French Revolution:
One of the first major events that happened in this time
period was the French Revolution, from 1789 to 1804.
The French revolution started because the commoners
were paying heavy taxes and living off barely nothing.
On the opposite end - the nobles, King Louis XVI and
the clergy, were happily living besides mountains of food.
The commoners started protesting against the King and
the most famous protest was the storm of Bastille prison.
King Louis XVI was executed by the guillotine along with
Marie Antoinette. The French Revolution started with an
absolute monarchy and eventually ended with one too.
In 1804 Napoleon Bonaparte declared himself Emperor
of France.
Industrial revolution:
WARNING: DO NOT WORK AT A FACTORY DURING
THIS TIME PERIOD.
The Industrial revolution took place in the 18th century
through 19th century. This revolution took place after
the population boomed because of the new farming
technology. Everyone needed more clothes, furniture
and other things that would simply take too long to
make them by hand. During the Renaissance period the
steam engine was invented but it was really put into use
in the in the Modern times. The Industrial Revolution
introduced people to factories and machines, more
people moved to the city and more people got into the
middle class. If you are thinking about going to work in
a factory then don't, the conditions were horrible and, sometimes, they worked more than 12 hours a day without a break or got injured from not paying attention to the machines. Children, men and women could work in factories as long as they could do the work.
Wars:
WARNING DO NOT VISIT ANY PART OF EUROPE DURING THESE TIMES, ONLY IF YOU CAN MANAGE TO SEE HORRIBLE SIGHTS OF DEVASTATION.
World War I :
This world war took place from 1911 to 1918 with more than 9 million soldiers killed, 21 million wounded and 5 million civilians died of diseases or starvation . The trigger point of the war was the assassination of Austrian Archduke in 1914 by a Serbian nationalist. As a result Austria declared a war on Serbia. But there were secret alliances like Serbia and Russia. Which followed by Russia declaring war on Austria and then Germany declaring war on Russia. Later on France and Britain joined the fight against Austria and their alliances. The first world war ended not in victory but in a peace treaty where Germany was forced to sign a treaty called the Treaty of Versailles. Key points were: Germany had to pay for all the damage it caused and it had to diminish its army size.
World War II:
This war was the most devastating of the two. As you may have already learned World War II started partially because of one man, named Adolf Hitler. Due to political turmoil in Germany in 1932-1934, Hitler became a solitary dictator in 1934. As they named him “the Führer”, Hitler was backed by the Nazi party. Hitler told Germany that he would bring it back to power, make it an even bigger empire than last time, and in addition also blamed the jews for bringing Germany into the poor state it was in. This information created of the notion of aryan superiority and enforced the idea of anti-semitism. Germany started to build military power and attacking nearby countries which Europe deliberately ignored until it was too late. In 1939 Germany invaded Poland which was the historical beginning of World War II.
Again, just like the last war, there were alliances. The Axis powers: Germany, Italy and Japan. And the Alliance powers: France, Britain, and later on America.
German invasions started to spread across the whole Europe and its power grew.
As a culmination of war, Germany attacked Russia on June 22nd of 1941. Despite of initial successful invasion in 1941-1942, German army failed to secure a permanent victory and slowly was decimated within the following 3 years. Germany lost totally and completely by May of 1945 when Soviet Army captured Berlin. On April 30th, 1945 Hitler committed suicide along with his wife.

I absolutly hate King Louis XVI because he taxed everyone so much, I felt really bad for the commoners. I will never view France in the same light again.
